Ryan Blansett is an attorney and experienced litigator who focuses his practice on commercial insolvency and bankruptcy matters.  Ryan primarily represents secured and unsecured creditors including commercial banks, credit unions, investment banks, SBA Section 7(a) lenders, private lenders, lessors, and consumers in federal bankruptcy court and state court.  However, he maintains a breadth of perspective from experience representing other key stakeholders in insolvency proceedings including corporate debtors, debtors-in-possession, trustees, and plan-appointed fiduciaries.

Ryan handles all phases of litigation, including jury and bench trials, and approaches each case with a focus on understanding his client’s objectives to tailor decisive and efficient strategies to achieve favorable results.  With this personalized approach, Ryan has successfully litigated issues regarding relief from the automatic stay, cash collateral usage, adequate protection, nondischargeability determinations, claims allowance, plan treatment, fraudulent and preferential transfer avoidance, bankruptcy case dismissal, trustee appointment, estate abandonment, UCC default remedies, judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, evictions, receiverships, replevins, and many other sophisticated and complex matters.  Ryan also assists his clients with out-of-court workouts including forbearances and loan modifications.

Before joining Markus Williams, Ryan served as an assistant attorney general for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in the consumer protection section and then as a law clerk to the Honorable Elizabeth E. Brown of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado.  Ryan brings practical experience informed by judicial insight to deliver creative, pragmatic solutions for his clients.
